Chess Club Session 2 (gr. K-12) +

Purpose of the club: Students will learn and play chess. We accept students of all levels and will place students in classes with teachers and coaches that fit their chess ability. Session 2 will run on Tuesdays - January 27th - April 14th and include 11 sessions. Session 2 also includes our popular annual chess tournament for all students beyond the beginner levels. Students will be paired with a new partner each week. We will have an awards ceremony on April 14th.

Time: 3:20-4:15 pm, every Tuesday

Meet in the lunchroom and various 5th grade classrooms.

Curious Conversations Club — Where Your Voice Matters!

Want to talk about fun, big, or even weird questions after school? At Curious Conversations Club, you’ll get to share your ideas, hear what others think, and have real conversations that spark your curiosity. Whether you’re loud and proud or a quiet thinker, this is a place to grow confidence, make friends, and explore what matters to you. Come join us and find your voice!

Mondays at 3:30 in room 2104 (upstairs). First Practice will be January 5th, and this club will go through the end of the year.

Hooked on Books (Gr. 1-2) +

The purpose of Hooked on Books Club is to help students fall in love with reading and enjoy good books. I want young students to develop higher level thinking about stories, characters, and themes. The goal is for stories to come to life through discussion and engaging activities. We will be writing, having discussion, eating snacks, making crafts, and playing games based on the book.
This group is for students in 1st grade or 2nd grade who can read chapter books.
Students will need to read the chapter book before each session! We will be talking about it in detail and doing activities from it.
8 sessions, meeting every Wednesday except on holidays or staff meeting days.

The purpose of Hooked on Books Club is to help students fall in love with reading and enjoy good books. I want young students to develop higher level thinking about stories, characters, and themes. The goal is for stories to come to life through discussion and engaging activities.
This group is for students in kindergarten/1st grade who enjoy reading picture books and are developing their fluency skills.
Students are encouraged to but not required to read the picture book before club since we will also read it together.
8 sessions, meeting every Monday except on early releases or holidays.

The Trojan Horse- The Trojan Horse follows the Greek heroes Agamemnon, Odysseus, and Achilles as they go to Troy and fight for ten years to get their stolen queen back!
